Alton Staffordshire — Staffordshire A Traditional And Haunted Village
In the central part of England, situated to the east of Churnet Valley, is Alton Staffordshire — Staffordshire. Historically a thriving region, evident by the number of pubs and resting houses on the village high street, today the town is famous for different reasons. Alton Towers theme park provides both entertainment and scares to thousands of annual visitors.
A collection of enthralling rollercoasters, rides and water park, the most recent addition, it is the UKs most popular theme park. To accompany the action packed adventures are two hotels and a conference hall. The park is built around Alton Mansion, home for many years to the Earl of Shrewsbury and designed by Augustin Pugin.
The grounds history dates back to 1000BC when an Iron Age fort, known as Bunbury Hill, was built. Some years later, as a result of the Norman Conquest, the fort was replaced with a castle, most likely used to guard the village, then called Alverton, and allowing it to prosper. As of 716AD, the time of the villages first mention in the Domesday Book, the Saxon King, Ceolred of Mercia, ruled the site. His reign came to a short end, seven years later, due to insanity and laid the foundations for the rumors surrounding the grounds today.
The rumors are reinforced by the legend of the 15th Earl of Shrewsbury, Charles Talbot, who lived in the gothic house. It is supposed that, in 1821, having turned down a beggar, a curse was cast upon an oak tree. The oak tree stands today with its branches chained, an act commissioned by the Earl following the death of a family member.
Today hoards of people visit Alton Towers in the hope of catching a glimpse of the ghosts who haunt the grounds. Sightings are regularly reported in a range of forms. Children dressed in Victorian clothing are frequently seen, as well as the belief that stones are thrown from unseen hands. Two of the most common ghosts are that of a lady, dressed in black, meandering through the mansions corridors and a man in the Music Hall.
It is not only the park that is believed to be haunted, as residents often mention a top hat wearing, horse riding figure moving amongst the village fields. Fear not though as it is not all adrenalin based here. In fact, the surrounding countryside is some of the most awe-inspiring in the UK, with an abundance of nature walks and valleys to be explored.
Visitors to Alton Staffordshire should be prepared for everything, high energy activities, spooks and simple relaxation.

Edgar Allan Poe föddes den 19 januari 1809 som Edgar Poe. Han var andre son till Elizabeth Arnold Poe och David Poe. Efter sin mors död, tog barnlösa par, John och Frances Allan i Poe, hans farföräldrar tog i broder William Henry, och fosterföräldrar vårdas syster Rosalie. Allan var en sträng och känslolös tobakshandlare och hans hustru var ALLTFÖR EFTERGIVEN. Poe är utbildad av Allan bistånd, privata akademier, briljera på latin, skriftligen vers och deklamation. År 1831 Poe flyttade till Baltimore för att bo med sin faster, Maria Clemm. Där han blev kär och gifte sig med hennes dotter och hans kusin Virginia Clemm, som inte ens var fjorton på den tiden. Tio år senare Hon dog också av tuberkulos. Han älskade innerligt sin hustru och efter att hon dog hans liv bara gick sönder. I "The Raven", är det tecken morgonen över död "Lenore" när en korp besök honom. Poe använde korpen eftersom det är en fågel som livnär sig på döda kropp – en symbol för döden. "Din Gud skänkt dig – av dessa änglar han har sänt dig Respite – och Nepenthe från dina minnen av Lenore! "(Korpen). Lenore är tänkt att vara en representation av Poes avlidna fru Virginia. Han ville inte komma över förlusten av sin hustru." Leave my loneliness obruten! – Quit de byst framför min dörr! Ta din näbb ur mitt hjärta, och tar de form från utanför min dörr! "(The Raven). I dikten, till min mor, Poe skriver om sin mor ta hand om Virginia i himlen och blir hennes mamma också. Död och sorg i hans fru gjorde faktiskt komma fram i hans texter. Poe är väldigt ensam i detta skede av sitt liv och missar hans fru Virginia. "För" mitten på allvar bryr sig och elände Det folkmassan runt min jordiska stig, (Sad väg, ack, där växer Inte ens en ensam ros!) "(Med en Departed). Döden är en tid i livet som skrämmer Poe och han tänker på det som är onda, eftersom de två kvinnor han älskade dyrt dog. Han gjorde inte alltid tänka på döden som en ond sak. I Tamerlane, Poe visste att döden var en del av livet och han verkade nöjd med tanken på att dö. "Fader, jag fullt och fast tror – jag vet – för Death, som kommer för mig …. Under årens lopp har Poes verk fått utstå mycket kritik och mycket beröm. Många proffs som har forskat Poes liv och hans författarskap anser att många av hans skrifter starkt visa funderingar kring Poes verkliga livet. En kritiker och vän skrev: "Poes attraktion till problemet med döden är så iögonfallande att den förtegenhet moderna kritik om detta framstår som oförklarlig "(Kennedy 3). Various kritikerna trodde att hans intressen i sådana mörka ämnen berodde på tidiga traumatiska upplevelser (5). Många av dagens kritiker av Poe undgå att inse att även om Poes berättelser var ett ovanligt perspektiv, på den tiden betraktades död som ett avancerat firande var det inte mer acceptabelt, men det var mer av ett ämne av tysta fascination (17). In the video I remember a house she wanders around in all alone. I believe it is a large house with marble floors. I keep recalling a scene where the wind blows through the house and billows open the curtains. The singer uses a very soft falsetto.
