Wayanad
Edakkal Cave
This was the breathless beauty of three kilometers from Ambalavayal which is 25 km from Kalpetta. The Edakkal Ambukuthy mountain cave in a cave is not proper. As shown of India, antiquarian and out of the district Gazetteer, Kozhikode, it is just a "cleft about 96ft. long and 22ft. wide in the rock". There is a crack in a corner of rock separate from the rest due to some natural causes. The depth of both gap and crack 30ft. What makes it a cave for the ordinary observer is the fact that in the second part of the wide gap, a huge rock, weighing several tones, has fallen form a roof over a large part of it.The rock wall contains some interesting rock carvings, which represent human and animal figures and objects of human use and symbols. These carvings speak of a highly civilized people before historic age and inspire archaeologists and historians to write history, and Wayanad Kerala as a whole.
Pookot Lake
It is a natural freshwater lake, filled with ever green mountains. The weather here is salacious, the scenic beauty, hypnotising and the nature, unspoiled.
